Milk
swap with vegan version if needed

water

Cocoa powder
Dark and bitter (I used Caotina Noir brand)

sugar

Cinnamon

star anise

Clove
optional, didnt add !

Vanilla Extract

Paprika powder
sub with Red chilli powder
Instructions
Bring the water to a rolling boil. Add the whole spices (cinnamon, star anise and clove) and let it steep for 3 mins.
1/2 cup water,
1 inch Cinnamon,
1 star anise,
1 Clove
Add the cocoa powder, paprika and sugar. Stir well.
2 tsp Cocoa powder,
1/8 tsp Paprika powder,
2 tsp sugar
When it gently simmers, add the milk and switch off. Add vanilla extract.
1 cup Milk,
1/16 tsp Vanilla Extract
Let it steep for a minute or two
Strain and serve hot as is or topped with whipped cream or anything else you fancy!
