The original dish contains Condensed milk which my older kid is slightly allergic to, so I have made some substitutes which went very well. Read on to see what substitutes worked for me 🙂
The step-by step pictures also would be helpful for beginners 🙂 These pack very well for a snack box for older and younger kids.
Tips for the best Beijinho De coco:
- If you are using condensed milk, make it 1 cup, increase the dessicated coconut by 4 TBSP more and skip the milk & sugar
- Add only warm butter to the ingredient mix at step 2 if using condensed milk
- if you dont want to add food colour, roll the truffles in chocolate vermicelli
- Add a tsp or two of cacao powder to make a chocolate variant of these truffles. adjust sugar / condensed milk accordingly. Else use few tsp of melted milk chocolate

Interesting how different countries have their own version of fudge and truffles. Like this Beijinho de Coco recipe. Something a bit different to make for the upcoming festivals. Like the idea of rolling them in chocolate sprinkles.
